If Lautner and Swift got married....

they'd both be Taylor Lautner!

to which their kids in the future would go :

"Hi meet my mum, Taylor Lautner!"
-kid shakes hand with Teardrops on my Guitar star, completely in awe until.....
"Hi meet my dad, Taylor Lautner!"

HAHAHHAHAHA. (kids break down in laughter)

i love them and all lah, but the combination is just pure slapstick. i got the the wind that they broke up (were they even official to begin with?) at work on msn news! but what i found most interesting wasn't the news itself, but comments the very very bitter public made. the arguments got so out of hand, the comments weren't about the Lautners anymore...

some even ended up asking each other to jump off a building and going back to school, just to name the cleaner ones. haha

the epic-est comment would be this :

"Phew!"

HAHHHAHAA. i'm choking already

wo beh tahan ahhhhhhhh!

it takes 30 minutes, two restarts, and several loud bangs from my hand to fire up my desktop at work. and now it's still lagging -.-

my warranted computer at home also went on holiday. it's going to take nearly a month to bring it back. GRR. WO BEH TAHAN AH!

...

i had a good christmas this year! family was very in the mood to celebrate, spent saturday at Huey Ee's baking our hearts out (GTK!), and Avatar was such a good movie! ;D

CK, relax lah. I agree HD can be pretty ugly due to the clarity (nothing real life is actually THAT clear). Even movies look too clear on HD. But it's all about getting used to. Quit being an old man and embrace the technology!

A Part of Me Died Today

A part of me died today. Like anyone who has experienced some part of them dying, I feel very sad.

I watched Avatar today, but before I watched Avatar, I was walking around wasting time before the movie started. That was when I found out FFXIII is already out. No not the yeng alot of swords FFXIII, but it is the girl one. At that point I was quite happy and I immediately texted Ming hopefully giving him enough peer pressure to force him to buy.

Then as I walked further, I saw another game shop showing the trailer for the game. And that's when it happen. As I walked closer to take a closer look at the game in its full glory... 3 words naturally came out of my mouth in utter disbelief.. "It's so ugly" and I can assure so I wasn't very secretive about my opinion.

I mean I was just so shocked, drowning in disbelief but most of all just felt so sad because the two major elements of the game or rather any game on the PS3 actually self-destructed the game. I'm talking about the PS3's potential for awesome graphics and Blu-Ray. What I meant when I said that the game was so ugly was that it is so real that it looks so fake, so ugly. Jal would know what I'm talking about since we shared similar thoughts at the Blu-Ray movies we watched.

The graphics, design and art is everything what you expect from Square-Enix. I'm sure despite the poor sales as Ming mentioned, it will go on to be a big hit. However, I honestly think Blu-Ray isn't going to do games or even movies any good, at least in my book. When I watched the trailers and stuff in SD(standard definition) everything look so good, it felt natural, familiar somehow. But compare FFXIII with older FF titles, the feeling its just not there I feel.

I'm sure you guys probably don't get what I mean and it is probably this opinion will only be mine alone, but it really adds to my disgust of the HD revolution, all these hyper-real nonsense. Argh. Bring back SD, bring back the old times!

I so didn't know Tiesto released his new album last month. I only knew when I heard Gaz(short for Gareth Emery) played a snippet of one of the tracks from Tiesto's album on his podcast. It was a collabo track with Calvin Harris and I lurved it, it is total bomb. So cool.

"Getting" the new album now so can't review yet. However, Tiesto posted all of his new tracks form his new album(Kaleidoscope) on youtube so can head over there to check it out. Here is the track with Calvin Harris titled "Century". Enjoy!

the difference between you and me is of artist, and factory man

God help me.

Epic Fail

Can anyone please tell me what happened to Where The Wild Things Are? Isn't it suppose to be screening already? So why isn't it screening? Why can't I find it in any showlistings? WHY WHY WHY!!

But that's not the story of today's epic fail. Instead, the honour goes to Cineleisure Damansara for putting up the poster for the movie 9 for the movie Nine. Just so you know, those are two seperate and VERY VERY different movies. One is titled 9 (in numerical form) is an animated movie set in a post apocalyptic setting with dolls as its main characters while Nine (in alphabetical form) is a movie that stars Nicole Kidman and it has a sort of musical theme to it, I can't elaborate since I didnt really read the description.

This little error got my hopes up because I knew the movie was not going to be screened in Malaysia and I really wanted to watch it but timchi Cineleisure can be so noob to mix up the movie posters. I hope they didn't advertise with the wrong posters in their cineplex as well. Imagine you bought a ticket to see a chunted animation about post-apocalypse and end up seeing Nicole Kidman doing burlesque, live-action. Well actually, it would be a good surprise... but but then that doesn't stop them(Cineleisure) grabbing the "Epic Fail of the Day" award.

But then you could say that it is very confusing also(not to me) if you didn't know that both existed.

Sigh... where have all the good movies gone?

Kam Pua Teng for the Soul

I've recently discovered and benefited from the benefits of the ancient art of research and sketching. This two ancient techniques seeks to help the individual to first fill up their lake with creative juices and then it helps the individual overcome high walls of creativity blocks through having a rough plan before actually beginning world domination.

I'm here to share some of the joy that I have encountered through meditating these 2 wonderful mantras.

Seeing things

Is it me or is google up to no good again? Just now when I went to the google search engine, it was blank except for the google logo, the query bar and the 2 buttons. After I move my mouse over the page, all the other stuff then appears. Is this happening to you?

Anyways, I've been busy, like real busy, like really really busy. However, I'm not as busy as compared to some of my classmates, because apparently when busy-ness get's to you, this happens.

I'm beginning to think I imagined you all along

All you amigos might not have noticed, but while all of you were having your good times, eating sushis and watching meatballs above everything else, the chunted Arctic Monkeys had released their new album called Humbug. Clearly adopting a different style but quite nice actually with already 2 songs are on my repeat-until-i-puke playlist.

Here is one of the songs. I dedicate this to Yong Ming. It's ok :-)

Futurismus

This week has been rooouuuggghhhh. I stayed over my friends place for 2 nights on Monday and Tuesday night finishing up work and this week will look set to be the same. But it definitely has been exciting.

Firstly, there was the hours we laboured through the night. It is definitely more fun to do work with company. Then on Wednesday we decide to give ourselves a pat on the back and went for steamboat at Yuen's. Quite fun hanging out with all of them and soon to find that some of my classmates are very funny. Some are funny like me(almost) and they are others who are "The Office" funny.

However on that same night, disaster strucked. It was around 10pm when we were sitting around and then we saw this deck of cards. Naturally there is only one thing to do, CDD. But CDD wasn't really fun because there was nothing involved. No money, no risk, no punishment, until we had the splendid idea of having using pushups as bets. Minimum 5 pushups, maximum 50 pushups. With our new found currency, we decided to switched to blackjack instead. And the rest as they say, was history.

90 pushups isn't funny. But, what was funny was how my friend tried to squirm away from doing 250 pushups. He only did 100, and owes another 110(after much sympathy and discount) which he negotiate to be "paid off" via installments. As for myself, the effects of 90pushups kicked in not so long after. My pectorialis major was stiff, my diaphragm area was stiff, my right quadriceps was stiff and I couldn't sit straight or bend my right arm without sounding like I was in labour.

However, that didn't stop me or any of us from our next agenda, LAN PARTY! Oh yea, 2 on 2 DotA. Because most of my friends are from outstation, they had rented rooms in the houses in the housing area opposite my college. Each one of them had a desktop , some laptops and some even both. So we just hooked up the wireless router and we were good to go. It wasn't exactly a very pro game but it was definitely fun. It's hard to describe this feeling but playing with friends on LAN somehow is just a whole different experience altogether and a good one at that.

The next two days were slightly more relaxing but we were only in denial that we have actually a big pile of work to do but again we had fun doing it together and the advantage of doing work together with them, which I discovered, was that we were able to give each other comments and help each other, such as setting up a spontaneous mini photoshoot studio in one of my friends bedroom for example. This leads me to the current project that I am working on and its due Monday.

The project is to create 4 portraits of ourselves, each with different requirements. The below are the works I came up with.

You've probably seen something like this before from me. I used the same technique but you could say that this probably the best piece I came up with using this technique. I went further and added the colour gradient, giving it a very beautiful sort of retro and that colour spectrum you see in those pictures of computer chips from like Intel.

This one is really cool. I did this with the help from a few of my friends. This was using the shutter speed manipulation technique. We turned my friend's room into a mini studio and we had this really cool lamp that we used as a "lightbox" and another one of my friend had to hold up a mounting board behind me for the black bg. It took us a few tries to lay down the technique but when we did, it was pretty cool and the effect was very cool as well. This one is a edited version of the original. It's only 1 photo and not 3 different ones layered on each other. Big thanks goes out to Albert, our class's inhouse pro photographer and the makeshift crew members of Yi Pin and Han Yang. Haha.

Oh yea one more highlight of my week was watching a dissection. We are about to start drawing fullbody figures already and our lecturer decided to show us this video to let us see how the muscles structure of a human looks like and work. The video was sort of like a documentary or educational dvd of some sort about human anatomy. So this professor dissected this dead person's real body in front of a live studio audience. It was quite vivid. He removed the body's skin in one whole piece and when he layed it out it look like a jacket. He then cut some muscles to show us the movement by pulling them manually. He even cracked open the brain, which was kinda like opening a durian. No seriously, the way he was hitting the chisel to crack open the brain was exactly how hard you hit when you want to open a durian/coconut. They even split open the spinal cord and took out the cord itself. One of the longest nerves extend from the brain until the tip of our big toe. But I think the best part of of all is that when they took a preserved brain and sliced it into like 6 cross-section-burger-patty-like pieces with different thickness to show us of the brain looks like. At the end of it I think the video did not achieve its purpose, but it was quite a cool video to watch about the human anatomy. Not for the faint hearted, srsly.

So yea it has been a productive week though there was quite alot of slacking in between. Anyway I have delayed long enough and should be getting back to my work now. I'm leave you all with this wallpaper I made like 15minutes in CG class haha. Quite cool, very retro, very my style. I might even make it into a print one day haha. Ciao.

P.S: Don't ask me what it means.

I am not blardy joking

On a lighter note, as in a very light note, though i'm having mixed reactions about it but i'll let you decide yourself...

MALAYSIA MIGHT BE UNDER ATTACK BY MEN WITH BAMBOO SPEARS!!

I am not blardy joking, seriously, here is the article.

Seriously... this is so lame. I don't even know what to think and what to think to think right now. But don't worry, for you over paranoid citizens like myself, the government has dispatched and tighten security forces especially at vital areas to keep us safe.

Bamboo spears... wtf? I mean.. .. ... urgh.

Anyway here is another article which justifies this whole issue abit. (note, this article is a parody of the situation written by a person on Twitter)

Anyway like the previous post, I'll leave it to you all to digest.

P.S. : Huey Ee likes Full Cream milk. Now we finally know why..

i did not just nod away and ignore all you've said

i am perfectly capable of an intelligent conversation now and then,TVQRM. thanks for the vote of confidence.

yes. things are getting slightly out of control. though it would be a full exaggeration to say freedom is at doom in the for-see-able future, i must agree that this move should be worrying.

though how the mechanics of this new system is going to work, i'm not too sure. but the idea of having to pay for information every google search is adsurb. i can't count the number of times i randomly type stuff on the web (though i much prefer books, the nerd i am) simply because it's so convinient.

don't worry, i dont think we're the only ones ticked off about this. the companies won't dare do something the public is strongly against. surely a compromise would surface eventually.

and jit yang, the poem is beautiful. i would like to hear your take on it, as you know with literature, opinions differ. i seem to draw on personal experience when i read it, though the reference i am making to is not dead, in the literal sense of the word, at least.

exams coming. wish me all the best ;D

xoxo.

No Such Thing as a Free Lunch

I know its such a cliche idiom but its so true, well at least its getting true-er if there is such a thing.

So like what's the deal?

It's as if the trend these days is to milk things. We all know very well about how the music industry and Hollywood has been battling pirates like tulanwarriors. As long as you use something that is theirs without their permission to make money, you're screwed. You know you have filesharing and stuff like that.

The latest move by multi-million/billion dollar corporations, now from the news and information sector, is to license their news articles meaning that probably in the next few years when i type "Arsenal" in my Google search box, chances are that I will need to pay to access news articles from the News tab.

The mentioned corporations are well known News corp. and AP (The Associated Press) who are the biggest players in the news publishing industry. They felt that the reductions in their earnings this year was due to them selling their news pieces at cheaper prices because their buyers (newspapers and broadcasters) are losing advertising revenue due to people turning to cheaper and more effective alternatives on the internet. So they thought the best way to counter that is to go to the root of the problem and charging the Internet search engines.

The picture I am getting now after reading the article is that the ability to obtain information freely from the web is going to be diminished, note diminished not lost because that is how things are beginning to work on the Internet, with sites such as Wikipedia articles are actually written by normal users and thats how many software projects are being done, open source. But then they form only a slice of what information we can easily access from the internet now. If these dudes were to license their materials, probably many of us will return to the good ol' days of visiting libraries for resources because there exists this new hurdle of accessing these information.

I don't know, I'm probably being paranoid and Ming will have probably ignored everything I said and just nods away at that last statement. But it's definitely food for thought. I just don't really like the idea because it sounds so much like how corporations are putting licenses on everything they own to "protect" their property. Anyway if you're interested you can read the article yourself here.

Love

I have found a new love.

This new found love is not a she
For she is a he
But neither a he
For he is dead.

Must thank A-Levels for this meeting. People , I would like to introduce y'all to W.H Auden.

It's late and I would like for his poetry to speak for itself, and it's late, so I leave you with

Funeral Blues by W. H Auden:

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

PS: If there are any references to any individual's life, it is not intentional.
PPS: It's just due to the fact Auden is awesome.

Kero, Kero, Keroro!

Oh em gee, you all so need to watch this. Like S-R-S-L-Y. Make your life complete. Haha but then again I would sound like I am exagerrating if you don't understand what you are about to watch. If you ever heard or watched Keroro Gunso before, well here is one of their endings. I love this anime.

My favourite character is Tamama. I always thought it was a girl... but it is actually a guy. Nvm. It is the dark blue one. This anime is awesome.

I noticed that Sunrise produce really good animes that are really really funny. Remember Yakitate! Japan? It is produced from the same company which produced the Gundam series aka Sunrise and this one is another very funny one. I love how it is laden with pop culture references and they are genuinely funny, something another anime(bleach) can learn one or two things from.

I mean seriously Bleach is getting lame. Don't get me wrong, their fighting sequences are still the best, however when it comes to their comedic moments, they really really disappoint. It is so repetitive and lame. You feel that they chucked it in so that they can prolong each episode to make it lag behind the manga as much as possible, like as if fillers are not enough already. Haha sorry I just had to take a swipe at Bleach.

Another really really good anime is FMA: Brotherhood. Their comedic moments are awesome, which goes on top of an already sublime storyline. You can really feel the intensity when the real heavy episodes kick in. Good stuff. Oh well haha just had to rant about it. Of course its not like anyone is reading what I typed. But its fine.

ahhhhh. another one of those movies i can't wait to watch.

i actually heard about the book ages ago from Alicia (stupid woman still haven't lent me her copy) but i didn't give it much thought until now.

the trailer looks absolutely smashing. Eric Bana, Rachel McAdams and Lifehouse's Broken. absolute helpless romantic heaven.

a lot of movies to catch this October!! And i haven't been to the cinema in agessss, the last movie i watched was like eons ago. damn shit.

and i am so freaking pissed with college admissions fee. WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE TO EVEN APPLY ANYWHERE? omg. you need a freaking scholarship for applications man. BMAT itself is going to cost me rm560!

really, truly, honestly

So like I'm not your ordinary movie buff or buffet(dude = dudette, buff = buffet, get it? kill me la) but that doesn't mean I don't like movies. No, I mean, Yes, I do like movies. I even sometimes fish around for news of upcoming movies that I really want to watch. I usually have a few, but I usually don't watch them because... well because of a few reasons, like laziness, or tak de teman, but more often than not, its due to poor memory. Well usually I forget which movies I want to see.

So to curb that obviously bad habit of forgetfulness, I shall make a list of movies I want to watch in the near future after another bout of watching trailers on youtube.

1. 9 (9-9-09)

I'm quite into post-apocalyptic stuff. When I stumbled upon this trailer and found out that Tim Burton has a hand in this, plus its an animation, it's a no-brainer. Looks, sounds, feels epic, no?

2. Toy Story 3 (10-6-2010)

Like come on, admit it. The first movie was probably the movie that changed your life. This is awesome. Toy Story 3. Like, b-awesome man.

3. Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs (18-9-2009)

I stumbled upon this a little while back and have been keeping tabs on it ever since. I thought I should put it here in case Uncle Alzheimer comes by. This movie is an adaptation of a children's book. An interesting story line you must say. Oh! Look out for a cop in shorts... this is so pg-13

4. Planet 51 (20-11-2009)

Muahahahha, another animation. Another interesting story line and doesn't that soundtrack sound familiar? Hoho.

5. The Fantastic Mr. Fox (13-11-2009)

Oh em gee. Stop motion and George Clooney. Haha this is so awesome. Must watch!

6. Sherlock Holmes (25-12-2009)

Haha finally a non animation on my list. A lot of people are critisizing this movie because it doesn't stick to the book because they decided to give Sherlock Holmes more of a tulanwarrior type of character. But it's all good ot me.

7. .... well Uncle Alzheimer caught again. I'm sure I have more to add to the list but nevermind. Until next time. 6 movies is alot already for me. So do me a favour, if you are thinking of watching any of these, ask me as well. please T_T

what if the sword does not fit me?

exams. exams. exams. mahai. exams. pukimak. exams

i have my A2 trials tomorrow, for those who are wondering (wtfbbq why this yongming forever having exams wan), yes, i couldn't agree more. i myself don't understand why i'm always having exams. it's really draining.

but on the brighter side, once the trials are over; i have about a month to the actuals then another month after that to total freedom. i can almost taste the sweet joy of November and December. the eternal breaks! i wonder what i'll do this year to fill up my gap time.

especially this year, i want to do something special and private for myself. Uni begins next year for me, and i don't want to waste the only free time i have before that inevitable leap.

so God bless, i would find something worthwhile to do.

Jit, how ru lahhhh. so busy until no time to update us on your life?

like a worn-out pair of jeans

sometimes you just get so tired of giving a damn about every single itsy-bitsy detail of life. you just want to stop washing those jeans despite them being dirty because it is so much more comfortable to wear something you didn't give a damn about.

exactly. i am very tired of giving a damn.

i lost my copy Eclipse and Breaking Dawn last week. i'm really sorry. those books meant the world to me, and you have no idea how heartbroken i am. i' m not even bothered to rebuy them. it isn't the same anymore. sorry guys.

and somebody said something to me today that i found both offensive and slightly rude to my well-being. it challenged my beliefs and standings-- which i really don't like at all.

all in all, a very bad day indeed.

Errr...

"A "health curfew" may involve the closure of all schools and the cancellation of all public and social functions, medical sources said.

Public gathering places might also be temporarily closed."

Owh kay... This whole H1N1 shebang is getting out of hand to the point of being scary. The death toll has been rising quite rapidly for a supposedly "seasonal flu". According to this article on The Star, the government will issue an health curfew if the death toll rises above 0.4pc. I don't know what the heck it means but currently it is at 0.1% to 0.3% so it wont be too far away right?

I mean, closure of ALL and cancellation of ALL? I don't know about you but the word ALL seems to carry a lot of weight to me. I mean I'm imagining some kinda "I Am Legend" type of scenario even worse then the CNY exodus.

The effects of this decision scares me. The panic and fear among the people? The economy shutting down? Very big deal indeed. After reading the article (http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2009/8/17/nation/20090817103540&sec=nation) I can't help but to begin to have this awareness and sense of fear in me as well.

Not to mention the drug Tamiflu, which is the medication created to battle this flu hasn't been effective. I'm making this assumption based upon a couple in the UK gave their toddlers Tamiflu and they were vomitting until the point the couldn't vomit anything else other than phlegm. Not to mention the shortage and unwillingness for clinics to stock up the drug due to high price and low supply (http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2009/8/15/nation/4524157&sec=nation)

But I guess whatever it is, it is better to be careful. Take care everybody!

Come On Consistency

I don't think there is any better way to start the season other than demolishing a team 6-1 away. When you find out that the team that had to endured the pain was Everton, a team known for their consistency and defense, it can't get any better.

Le Professuer got it right. All the players he fielded today were top class, with only one new face, which deserves a shot at man of the match. Many of the players on show today were underperformers last season, and when Arsene publicly proclaim his faith in them so confidently, you can't be blamed for having doubts. Yet ironically, the underperformers were the real deal today.

Coming back to Earth, it is still the first game of the season, with 37 left to go, which in football time is like eternity so it will be foolish to think that the title is ours at this point. Yet as passion always overcome logic and rationality, with a performance like this, you can't help but feel delirious and over-optimistic about success at such an early stage as a fan.

Success is not out of reach by a million miles, yet if these words, humility, hunger and consistency, are kept throughout the season, success is but in our grasp already.

As the wave subsides, I begin to be filled with rationality to not expect too much at this point in time yet, but it's easier said than done.

My man of the match

El Capitan, Francesc Fabregas, for his 2 goals, 2 assists and infinite supply of sublime passes.

P.S.: Great song, even greater video by an amazing band,

slipped away

thank you CK for the announcement ;D

yes, i am very happy at the moment. life couldn't have been any brighter. except for the fact that my trials is next month...

=.=

seriously. exams non-stop man. oh well. it will be the end soon. and i'm not looking forward to it. the end would mean a whole new group of people to miss when it's all over.

you know what, i seriously hate missing people. it's something that you cannot control, that eats you from the inside, and makes you foolish sometimes; in your desperation to see them again.

another one of the many great flaws of being human. missing each other.

sigh.

i just don't want to leave Taylor's and have to start all over again, which is bound to happen. It's just a matter of time.

so much for wanting to "take off" so badly.

Augustus Bestus

So like August has been and is going to be the best month I've ever have, I think, I hope lol. Why?

After LOUD09, things has been so relaxing, so much so that i've procrastinated so much yet of course delivered my work, but dota-ing countlessly in between. Ahh such bliss.

But that's college life, which is coming to an end this week. After that is 3 weeks break! And that's the best part. First of all, is the time off that I want and need, obviously. Secondly, Final Fantasy Dissidia is coming out August 25 and September don't look too shabby as well with a few other games on the lineup, like Persona, and maybe even Soul Calibur 0.0.

But!! Probably the best news of all I've heard today(no Arsenal haven't sign anybody yet, dammit) is that.. wait for it...

FAT PRINCESS IS COMING TO THE PSP WOOHOOO!!!

That's right. I was so happy when I read wikipedia that a PSP version of the game is under development. What's the deal? Fat Princess is a multiplayer game(up to 32 players simultaneously) with the concept being capture the flag. Instead of a flag, players need to rescue their princess from the enemy. However, to make things abit more special, you can collect food and feed your hostage princess to make her fat so that it makes it harder for your enemy to carry her back to their castle.

I know right?

It's so clever and direct, it's genius! Man, can you believe it? Hahaha this is awesome. The current game is only out on the PS3, which can be downloaded through the PS Network. There is 5 different classes in the game, a worker, archer, warrior, mage and forgot 1 more(healer I think) what already. Here is a preview from youtube.

This is the official logo

Yes, The time for the reign of the PSP has come. COME ON FAT PRINCESS!!

P.S. : And as always, a tune. Enjoy!

In Rainbows

I know I am potong-ing your steam by posting this before you Ming but I just want to say congratulations!

For those who have not know yet, Ming just got straight A's (4A's, right?) for his AS exams, which means uber awesome shiznitness if you don't understand what the hype is about. I feel like giving you a gift so here is one (I am partially lying because I'm also finding some outlet to post music I like =P). Anyway this is a very very beautiful song from Radiohead, and I shall dedicate it to you, not that you're beautiful, but that you got beautiful results (sorry la, need to down to Earth abit =D).

Here you go!

ill

i'm so tired of being ill. seriously. this month's toll is already 2 for this weak body of mine. i've been hit by the flu TWICE.

and no. i DO NOT have influenza A, don't get your panties in a twist. but i just can't help but be curious if there is a hidden motive behind all this falling sick-ing.

*shudders*

Anyway, i am missing all of you terribly. life without you besties is very draining at times. i miss the impressive company and the "lack of words comfort", when all i need is a hug and a smile of reassurance. you guys are the only friends who can make me feel better without actually saying anything.

My AS RESULTS are coming out on Monday. it might be a little bit dramatic to say "my future shall be set in stone in 4 day's time" but it is true to some extent. wish me all the best guys. i'm not in the least tense about it. yet. i guess it'll kick in on Sunday night. get your phones ready ;D

mmm. enough about myself. let's do some sharing :

1. Tommy Emmanuel, his guitar, and Angelina.
- have you guys heard this amazing piece by Tommy? He's this guitarist that i'm absolutely gaga over right now. excellent music, kinda like chicken soup for the soul.

2. 500 Days of Summer

- i first read about this in a magazine, then stumbled across a very handsome picture *ahem* on lisa's crazy blog. then, i you-tubed it and it's all i can think about watching right now.

this is not a love story, it is a story about love.

definately one to notebook in your diaries.

3. The atrocity that is Harry Potter and the half Blood Prince.
- I cannot believe it took me this long to start insulting the movie. i know everyone thinks the movie is a complete waste of 2 hours you're never going to get back in your life; but trust me, the movie picked a bone with me a whole other LEVEL.

i am a fanatic where harry potter is concerned, and i am very dissapointed in the potrayal of one my favourite books of all time.

they changed scenes (which i can totally accept where appropriate, sadly most of the changes were HIGHLY inappropriate) they ADDED scenes (something that is inappropriate on its own, you just don't add on to JK Rowling's fantasy world however minutely, unless you're JK Rowling) and Harry is such a stoner actor, he takes the cake for stoniness right after hayden christenenssen in Star Wars. NO, wait, he's MUCH WORSE.

i could probably turn my mum into harry potter with an attachable penis and some glasses to boot, by his standards.

ARGH. i AM SO ANGRY-FIED

4. T-Shirts in tribute to the king of PoP - i am nowhere close to a true fan. but i'm selling shirts. the design is like this :

design 1
design 2

colour : white shirt
cut : fitted to chest (male/female)
sizes : S/M/L/XL
prices : (in discussion, but will be less than RM20)

- mind you, this shirt is for charity so anything less than RM20 is reasonable. please buy and support the cause. it's to raise funds for orphanages on behalf of Taylor's.

you two will buy one right ;D

PS : the designs are courtesy of Lisa (especially design 1) and Suzen (design 2)

i guess that's all for now. smelllss you later !~

Anywayyy...

So again, it's that time of the year, again! That time of the year that I decide to award one of the best inventions ever invented in the history of human inventions. So what invention will take the spotlight this time? Behold,
The
GeForce4 MX 4000 64MB Video Card. Yes, this year's Invention of the Year award goes to the, in my opinion, John McClane of GPUs. You are probably thinking two things right now. The first being that this graphic card is probably the shiznit of the fo-shizzles in the graphics card world and secondly, you would think that I am an expert in this area. Well you are wrong, only if you were thinking those 2 thoughts, if not, you are correct.

This graphic card was released way back in 2002. It was not exactly the shiznit of the fo-shizzles at that time either with many other models more powerful than it though it has some measure of performance. However I'm not dishing out the award based on its performance (if you don't know by now, these awards are pretty biased) so it doesn't matter. This is after all the John McClane (the Die Hard one) of GPUs so what makes this a winner is its reliability and longevity.

I got this beast mid 2004 after convincing my dad that I wanted to use it for animation. This GPU got me involved in Lineage 2 and GTA Vice City and if you don't already know, they are quite graphics intensive games at that time. However, as the years passed it began to wear out and I could see it. Maybe its the overall performance of my computer deteriorating but I can't help feel that it also contributed. The animation promise wasn't realize until 2 months ago, 5 year later. With that sort of time being passed and obvious signs of old age, you wouldn't expect much. I didn't at least. However it got me through the project I had for LOUD09.

Though I have to give equal credit to the Tung family for accomadating me for an entire week to utilize their far superior computer. Nonetheless, this computer did much of the editing and even rendering two of the 3 videos, not in record time but given circumstances, I would say its more of a miracle. It's not over-praising when After Effects is a program quoted as " the program that is worth buying an 8-core MacPro for."

I feel like I finally understand the joy of an indie film maker achieving success with limited resources. Anyway enough of the SS post. This is the second last week of my semester already. So fast right? I know. I cannot believe it myself either. Hope to see you all soon during my break maybe. Ciao de mao!

i am physically challenged, but i have met so many more able-bodied people who are more crippled than i am

pure genius. the very words of the VERY Tony Christiansen himself.

Taylor's was kind enough to invite this inspiring speaker to help us get back on track and review on our life perspectives. Mr. Tony Christiansen is a man without legs, physically challenged, yet in so many ways more competent than the average human being.

what sets him apart? his fierce determination of setting goals and seeing them accomplished.

He is a gold medal winner in paralympics javelin throwing, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (tallest peak in Africa) and is the most optimistic person ever, especially when considered he probably doesn't even remember how it felt like to walk. He lost his legs at the age of nine.

truly, truly inspiring.

i hope he's going around to other colleges to continue to inspire other students to pursue their dreams.

Mr. Tony on the right.

for more details on his absolutely amazing life go here.

especially those of you who are feeling especially discouraged about something. i know i was, and this really HELPED a lot. it's wonderful to hear of someone else' success and seeing how it might be possible for you one day.

the best example of the non-existence of impossibility is American Idol, every year hundreds and thousand of people sign up and who's to say there's no hope despite that? isn't it compulsory that SOMEONE must win? why can't it be you, if you've got what it takes?

the key is to look from this perspective.

it's every woman's role to guard her chastity, and every man's job to coax her to surrender it

i'm feeling very much like the man in the quote.

Universities are as paranoid about accepting new applicants as the average virgin, intent on safeguarding her "innocence" from being entered by the wrong man. The same rule applies, they screen you, they monitor if you're worthy, and put you through a series of grueling tests and obstacles; just to decide to let you in.

Ah yes, apart from studies (which my dear friend CK points out on my behalf) i have been engulfed in university applications as it is that time of the year again. I never really thought about how universities picked undergrads in the past, but now that i'm experiencing it first hand : it's absolutely catastrophic.

First there is the insane application fee every university seems to be enjoying to impose so much. I guess I can understand this purpose (to clear off people who are just applying for fun without keen interest) but some Unis in the UK are really asking a LOT.

details unnecessary.

and then, there's the ever popular personal statement. your one chance to sell yourself in about 4000 characters to show how you are academically competent to be enrolled.

i can write just about anything. but writing about myself seems to be painful. i don't know why.

isn't it just like sex? with the acceptance an imagery of an orgasm?

haha.

JAL! i completely agree with your POV. cremating is a total waste of biological chemicals that make up essential organs that can only occur in nature. I don't understand why people do not offer to donate their organs upon death or to a medical school for close study.

it's like the body isn't YOU anymore. it's a cask of chemicals, naturally bonded and decaying now that you're gone. ESPECIALLY CREMATING. you're just turning all that useful amino acids, muscles and ORGANS (especially organs) into compounds of carbons and nitrogen. COMPLETE WASTE~

so two and a half men urges all of you to donate organs upon death. TQVRM. you do whatever you want with the rest (hhaa so insensitive leh)

i miss you guys loads. i hope when all this madness has passed, we could pick up from where we left off.

ciao. xoxo

BTW CK i might wanna attend LOUD.

Whose ashes?

So, Michael Jackson died. His tribute, well more like his funeral, was said to cost $1.4million. That’s an expensive funeral. Now, don’t get me wrong, I loved MJ, well his music more than him, but 1.4mil for a funeral?

Again, don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to complain about the ramifications of such large scale spending in a time where the economy is as stable as a…very unstable thing.

No, no. Not about MJ and certainly not about the economy. But about death. The concept of an extravagant funeral is making me think.

Why? Why do we find the need to purchase a large wooden casket in which trees were chopped down (in MJ’s case, 14 carat gold trees) for a lifeless body, invite friends and family over for a bite and some mourning then later in the day finish it off with beautiful speeches, prayers and poetry. All of which FOR the deceased but heard by the living.

And I hardly believe, that if there is such a thing as the spirit of a being, that it would be able to hang around and watch the ceremony and nod in appreciation at how the flowers set the appropriate “there is a death in the family tone” and that Jason did a good job in not allowing Uncle Hector to deliver a eulogy. Wouldn’t this ethereal-being be a tad busy talking to St. Whoseits at the Gates made out of Whatsits?

I always had the plan of being cremated. If you thought ‘hahaha, cremated alive!’ there is very little to say regarding your sense of humour. I don’t know why though. And there’s that problem of what to do about the ashes. I love the ocean, so I thought it would be rather romantic for my ashes to be thrown out into the ocean, a clean one; plus, it would make a stunning photograph.

But that’s the thing, MY ashes? How can it be MY ashes; the organism in which the pronoun ‘my’ is applied to is no longer…‘him’. The same grammatical concept can be applied to the funeral, the casket, the grave, the tombstone, the altar, the ashes, the urn etc.

You are not there, the concept of ‘you’ has disappeared along with your heartbeat and brain activity. So surely, there is no way in which I would be offended if my – ‘the’ ashes were thrown not into the ocean but down the jamban or Selat Melaka (they’re increasingly becoming one of the same anyway). The same would go for the 1.4mil funeral, I, well the concept of ‘ME’ wouldn’t give two hoots as to whether or not Mariah Carey is present to sing off key.

Here lies nothing.

No, seriously.
Think about it.

And I'm sorry, about you, and me

This can only mean one thing... THE END OF THE WORLD! AHHHH!!!

What thing? What the hell am I talking about? Well, I'm talking about the idleness of the blog! If you compare our blog to a lake, it is so stagnant that the algae population in it is like the population of Africa, to the power 42! And if there is any sign that the end of the world is near, this would be the it, not the movie 2012.

The last time I checked, if I'm not wrong, the Jitler had late night activities ( for the benefit of the tabloids, it's some acting workshop) every night for an entire week and the usual T4YP+The Platform occupying most of his time.

In Ming's case, he has been busy studying and working hard to be the Wannabe-Doctor-of-the-Year, an award awarded by the Award Awarding Association of Awarders. Not to mention he has also been preoccupied by A2 exams in September if I'm not mistaken. Haven't heard him curse vagina for 3 weeks, you say? Yeap it's that bad.

And myself? Well inbetween watching Top Gear and procrastinating, I've been very much bogged down by final projects after final projects. Ever since the start of August, the gate of hades had open and unleashed monster after monster amount of assignments. To make things worst, I found out about 2 months ago that beginning from this year, they have stripped us from the privilege of having free access to Sunway Lagoon, not that I care anyway, but I thought it would help make my situation seem worse. Note that I didn't include sleep anywhere in this paragraph... Haih...

So yea a quick roundup of what's happening in the lives of the ever-happening Two and a Half Men. Here have another present from me. See you all around!

P.S. : Just to update everyone, LOUD 2009, yes the annual concert event organize by my church is back and is being held this Sunday, 26 of July. The pre-concert events starts at 5pm and the concert itself will start at 7pm and the whole event will end at around 9pm. This year I am in-charge of the newly formed Multimedia Department, which is responsible to come up with some motion graphic videos, one of it being a background video to one of our band's song, much like something you see during award shows such as MTV or the Brit Awards. If you are able to find time this Sunday, please come and bring friends along too if you can. If you wanna come but got no transport you can drop me a message or call me and I will try to help sort things out. Hope to see you there!

Here is a promo video for the concert;

we all began with good intent

college reopened today without the *BANG*, not that anybody was anticipating it. it's a typical age thing, nothing is ever so "exciting" anymore.

didn't we totally had this conversation CK? How a lot of things aren't the first time anymore... and we feel kinda robbed of our innocence? i guess it doesn't just apply to specified aspects of life...

it gets worse with age... it gets worse i tell you.

and to my loving college mates. today's our year anniversary :D

HAHAHA. so fucking sappy la mahai.

six more months and its another change of friends. i love you guys soo much you know. (although no fucking-body is going to see this sappy shit, as my classmates don't read my blog)

and happy birthday to my darling esteee ;D
if you feel old, trust me, i know very fucking well how you feel.

<3

and this is for you.

be strong my girl, God abandons no one, not even a fly, and he will especially care for you in your time of need. ask and you shall receive. if a father knows how to give good gifts to his children, and all fathers are sinners, what more our Heavenly Father and his gifts for us? he will bless us abundantly regardless.

our love is evidence ;)

Love was raw and young,
we believed we could change ourselves
the past could be undone
but we carry on our backs the burden,
time always reveals
in the lonely light of the morning,
the wound that would not heal,
it's the bitter taste of losing everything, that i have held so dear

i cannot guarantee that your heart will ever be the same again, but i can guarantee that it will be stronger, bigger and fuller; ready to take on the next challenge that awaits.

the hole will never dissapear completely, i'm sorry to say that, but you will be strong in spite of it.

love you very much.
happy birthday again!
