Come On Consistency

I don't think there is any better way to start the season other than demolishing a team 6-1 away. When you find out that the team that had to endured the pain was Everton, a team known for their consistency and defense, it can't get any better.

Le Professuer got it right. All the players he fielded today were top class, with only one new face, which deserves a shot at man of the match. Many of the players on show today were underperformers last season, and when Arsene publicly proclaim his faith in them so confidently, you can't be blamed for having doubts. Yet ironically, the underperformers were the real deal today.

Coming back to Earth, it is still the first game of the season, with 37 left to go, which in football time is like eternity so it will be foolish to think that the title is ours at this point. Yet as passion always overcome logic and rationality, with a performance like this, you can't help but feel delirious and over-optimistic about success at such an early stage as a fan.

Success is not out of reach by a million miles, yet if these words, humility, hunger and consistency, are kept throughout the season, success is but in our grasp already.

As the wave subsides, I begin to be filled with rationality to not expect too much at this point in time yet, but it's easier said than done.

My man of the match

El Capitan, Francesc Fabregas, for his 2 goals, 2 assists and infinite supply of sublime passes.

P.S.: Great song, even greater video by an amazing band,

Countdown by Jupiter One
