Kam In Your Face

Just came back from watching Kam In Your Face at The Actors Studio, Bangsar.

It was stellar I tell you. This was the first time I have watched a cabaret performance.

Cabaret
is a form of entertainment featuring comedy, song, dance, and theatre, distinguished mainly by the performance venue — a restaurant or nightclub with a stage for performances and the audience sitting at tables (often dining or drinking) watching the performance.
According to Wiki that is.

Comedy came in many parts. In the skits like CSI:Petaling Street. But my fav was the stand-up Joanne Kam Po Po started the show with. The jokes were crude and liberal. Touching on topics like the human anatomy, men, women and politics.

Speaking of politics. Did you know poli is greek for many. And tics are small blood sucking insects?

The song part came in many many ways. There were numerous singing skits. Some of them injected with funny lyrics, some of them performed by excellent singers, and some, here is my fav, songs being sung with sexy, sexy dancers dancing on stage. You see with theatre: The censorship board has no say. So, double the sexy!

Dance as afore mentioned. Came in the form of sexy women. Yes, sexy women. And also men. But of course it was cabaret style. So think along the lines of go-go-girls, moulin rouge dancers, pole dancers and what not. Sexy.

Tonight's performance made me smile from beginning till end. From the opening song till the closing one.

If cabaret was always like this. Then I don't know what Simon Cowell's problem is complaining some of the Idol contestants sounded too cabaret.

If they sounded like what I heard today. They win my vote.

But if they were like Joanne Kam.

You are already an idol.

Two thumbs up!
